Low lying rectangular box

Notecards Box

Maybelline lip balm box

Rectangular lidded box

LOW LYING RECTANGULAR BOX

Hey crafting folks!!! I am back with another box for ya. I used a very pretty paper for making a low lying rectangular box! It is an easy box and its making style is similar to that of the card box that I made earlier. So….let’s start!

Card stock/Paper: 7 ½” X 4 ¼”

Score at:
On the long side (7 ½” side): ¾”, 6 ¾”
On the short side (4 ¼” side): ¾”, 2 ¾”, 3 ½”, 5 ½”
Here are the score lines:

You don’t need to actually cut anything from your paper but there is some notching…..

As you would have noticed that on the borders there are 3 squares and 2 rectangles on each side. Fold your right hand side square over the adjacent rectangle. as shown below and do the same thing on the opposite side.

Then fold the left hand side and center squares over the adjacent rectangle. as shown below and do the same thing on the opposite side.

Your box shall look like this with all the folds made.

So if you close the box, it will look like this….

I made a small embellishment. I have highlighted its border by using sponge and black paint/ink.

And here I have stuck the embellishment on the box with the help of double sided tape.

And there it is the box made…! Thank you so much for stopping by! If you like my projects pls subscribe. If you have any problems or suggestions, u can email them to me. If u don’t understand any of the terms that I used, pls click the terminology reference button on the right. You can also follow me on pinterest and bloglovin’.

NOTECARDS BOX

BOX FOR CARD STORAGE (4)

Hey crafters!!!! Welcome back to craftix!! So, I designed this box specifically for some cards (in my previous post). But you can obviously use this box for other purposes as well. Again, you can use either paper or card stock. But, I would prefer card stock for this particular project for sturdiness and stability.

Card stock needed:  12 ¼” X 8 ½”

Score at:
On the long side (12 ¼” side): 1 ¼”, 5 ½”, 6 ¾”, 11”
On the short side (8 ½” side): 1 ¼”, 7 ¼”

Burnish well!

You have to notch like so….

You will also need to prepare a covering piece for decoration. Here is the measurement for the same! You can also decorate the piece as you wish!

3 5/8” X 5 ½”

Turn over the card stock so that the front side is facing you. Now you must be having 2 big rectangles. Stick your decorative piece on the second one from the left.

Here's where you put your glue/adhesive.....

Turn your card stock over again. Now we have 6 square tabs, 2 right hand side ones, 2 left hand side ones and 2 middle ones. We also have 4 rectangles on the top and bottom, 2 right hand side rectangles and 2 left hand side rectangles. Stick your right hand side and middle sq. tabs on right side rectangles. Getting confused?? Look at the picture below!

Do the same thing on the bottom as well.

Close your box….and there it is…ready!!!!

MAYBELLINE LIP BALM BOX (2)

The perfect box for keeping your lip balm is here! Now keep your lip balm/lip stick in this cute little box which is easy to make too!!

Paper/Cardstock: 4” X 3 3/8”

Score  at:
On the long side(4” side) : 5/8”, 3 3/8”
On the short side(3 3/8” side)  : 6/8”, 1 ½”, 2 2/8”, 3”

Burnish well!

Your paper should look like this…(I have highlighted the score lines with a pencil)

Here are the parts that you need to cut off.(shaded parts)
(no notching is needed)

Let’s name the tabs as 1, 2 and 3

Put glue on tabs 2 and 3.

Glue tab 3 on top of tab 1. And then glue tab 2 on it.

Do the same thing on the other side as well. And your lip balm box should be ready. That was pretty short!!!

Thanks for reading this tutorial. And if you like it, pls comment!!!

RECTANGULAR LIDDED BOX (1)

This is a beautiful lidded box, cuboid in shape with a considerable amount of space to store. You can use either card stock or paper for this purpose.

For the base of the box,

Card stock: 6 15/16”  x    4 15/16”
Score at:  1 ½” on all 4 sides

For the lid of the box:
Card stock: 4” x 6”
Score at: 1” on all 4 sides

Burnish well!

Your base should look like this…(I have highlighted the score lines with a pen)

And your lid should be like this…

Here are the parts that you need to cut off.(shaded parts)

Make sure that you notch into your tabs like so...

There's where you need to put your adhesive
The same scenario follows for the lid as well.

So you construct your box as shown below
Do the same thing for the lid

And there’s your project, now you are ready to show off! Aren’t you?
